WHY WE’RE DIFFERENT
No other US-based NGO works directly with working people on labor rights issues. Our value added, and what makes us unique, is that in championing workers and partnering so closely with their unions.
We are able to show the dignity of work–in the fields, in the factories, in homes (domestic workers) in the streets. We show how all the work everyone depends on gets done–who picks the food for your table, cleans your home so you can go to the office, makes your clothes, keeps your streets clean. For us, the working person is first and foremost–they deserve decent work, decent wages, dignity on the job.
